William Ashley Locklear

Mr. William Ashley Locklear (Bill), of Pembroke, NC was born August 6, 1927 to his parents, James Ashley and Mary Cattie Locklear and departed this life on June 23, 2020 completing his journey of 92 years. Today he is at rest with his heavenly Father.

Bill is preceded in death by a daughter Cathy; three sisters, Mable Locklear, Inez Locklear and Jessie Bain Locklear and two brothers, Warren Locklear and James Clarence Locklear; and a special niece, Debbie.

Bill was a WWII veteran who had a lifelong commitment to serving. When Bill was able, he visited sick and shut-in community members, family and friends. He was a loving man with a giving spirit. To know Bill was to love him.

Bill leaves to cherish his memories, his brother, Garvie Locklear (Ethel), a special cousin, Van Bethea, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Graveside Service will be Sunday, June 28, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Preston Cemetery in Maxton.
