Wayne Towers “Noody” Maynor, 72, of Pembroke, NC, was born June 24, 1949, to the late Lacy and Mable Jacobs Maynor, and departed this earthly life on May 22, 2022 at home.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Nannie Jacobs; paternal Grandfather Wayne Jacobs; paternal grandmother, Tommie Jane Oxendine Maynor; and paternal grandfather Elias Maynor.
He is survived by four daughters, Anita Nicole Jacobs (Ray) and Anitra Maynor Locklear of Rowland; Atoria Maynor Chavis (Ricky) of Lumberton; Hayley Maynor Wyke (Thomas) of Laurinburg; and one son, Anthony Quinn Maynor (Brandy) of Pensacola, FL; four brothers, Terrance L. Maynor (Sharon) of Rowland; Ernie L. Maynor (Carla) of Maxton; Christopher B. Maynor (Patsy) and Venus J. Maynor (Cecily) of Pembroke; and one sister, Mary Maynor Winfree of Lumberton; 16 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
Wayne was an expert gardener and farmer. He enjoyed growing, as well as, preserving vegetables and meats. He was an extraordinary cook who enjoyed serving large meals to family and friends. His farm-to-table meals were enjoyed by many, especially on Sundays. He was a skilled carpenter by trade. Throughout his adulthood, he was an avid hunter, renowned champion fox hunter, and outdoorsman.
The funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel, Pembroke, NC. Burial will follow at Sandcutt Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 2 PM. Due to the rise in Covid 19 cases, the family requests that masks be worn throughout the visitation and funeral service.
