Mr. Wade Hampton Locklear, 75, of Maxton, was born July 12, 1946 and died peaceful at home in Maxton on July 23, 2021.
He was preceded in death by his parents Mr. Patrick Locklear and Mrs. Clare Mae Locklear; two brothers, Uvnal “Colonel” Locklear, and Kurt Locklear and two sister Bertha Locklear, and Emily Locklear.
Mr. Locklear was a graduate of Prospect High School Class of 1964. He operated a car repair body shop, Locklear & Sons in Maxton, which he loved.
He leaves behind four sisters Betty Locklear Smith, Josephine Locklear, Gearldine Locklear Hunt, and Patsy Locklear; one daughter, Candace Locklear Bailey husband Lyndon of Maxton, North Carolina; four sons, Wade H. Locklear Jr. of Starks, Louisiana wife Kimberly Locklear, Kevin D. Locklear of Sulphur Louisiana wife Marquet’ Locklear, Marcus D. Locklear of Maxton North Carolina wife Amanda Locklear, and Alex B. Locklear of Maxton, North Carolina wife Jayne Locklear; sixteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
