Vonnie Mae (Locklear) McGirt

Mrs. Vonnie Mae “Lady” McGirt, 86, of Pembroke, NC, was born on March 26, 1934 and departed for her heavenly home on Friday, May 8, 2020 after an extended illness.  She is preceded in death by her parents: Mr. Latherd Locklear and Mrs. Mary Eliza Locklear; husband: Mr. Herman McGirt; one son: Mr. Ralph McGirt.  

Mrs. McGirt enjoyed spending time outside working in her yard.  She was a member of New Prospect Holiness Methodist Church.  

Mrs. McGirt is survived by her three children: Ms. Joyce McGirt Davin of Raleigh, NC, Mrs. Rebecca McGirt Lewis of Pembroke, NC and Mr. Rick James McGirt of Oakland, Ca.  Sister: Mrs. Lollie Lee of Maxton, NC; special sister: Vonnie E. Woriax of Maxton, NC;  Three Grandchildren: Mrs. Kelly Nicole Caruthers of Louisburg, NC, Harley Renee Burbhette of Pembroke, NC, and Mr. Richard Christian McGirt of Raleigh, NC;  two Great Grandchildren: Riah Lynn Clark of Pembroke, NC and R. Cole Caruthers of Louisburg, NC; and a host of wonderful nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
