Mrs. Victoria Lee Jacobs, 62 of Pembroke, NC transitioned to her heavenly home while being in the embrace of her family on Wednesday, October 30, 2024. She was the beloved wife of James Prestwood Jacobs, devoted mother to Latasha Nicole Jacobs and James Elliott Jacobs, and cherished grandmother to Bransleigh A’Riah (BBJ) Locklear and James Daniel (JD) Jacobs. She was preceded in death by her parents, Barlie McNeil and Dorothy Jones and her stepfather, Kacy Jones. She is survived by her dear siblings, Lisa Materne and a cousin who was raised like a sister, Mabel Hammonds.
As a woman of unwavering faith and heart, Victoria was a dedicated member of Union Chapel Baptist Church and the Ladies Auxiliary at Burnt Swamp Fire Department. Even in her sickness she would lend a hand in helping her church or community, no matter what the need was. From volunteering to collect money at fundraisers for the youth to participating in home visits with the Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, her commitment to anyone in need was as profound as her love for her own family and “tribe”, as she lovingly referred to them. Her favorite words were “What do you need me to do?”. Victoria’s love knew no boundaries and she exuded a child-like spirit with a passion for life. Her light will continue to shine within the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Victoria’s life was a testament to resilience and grace, a truth that she captured in her own words: “The smile on my face does not mean my life is perfect. It means that despite my challenges, I choose to focus on my blessings”. Guided by her favorite Bible verse, Proverbs 3:5-6, she lived a life rooted in her trust of God. With God by her side, she believed not that faith would end life’s storms, but that it would strengthen her as she walked through them.
Her warmth, wisdom, and unshakeable spirit will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those who had the blessings of knowing her. Victoria’s memory will forever be a source of comfort and inspiration to all those she loved and cherished. Until we meet again, may she rest in the arms of Jesus.
Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him and he will direct your paths.
