Ms. Veronica Jane McGirt, 62, of Maxton, went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at Moore Regional Hospital, while surrounded by family. She was born September 15, 1959 to the late Mr. Angush “Junebug” Blue and Mrs. Elgie Mae Blue. She is preceded in death by a brother, Master Marlyon Blue, and a sister, Mrs. Tammy Bullard.
Ms. McGirt leaves to cherish her memories, one son, Mr. Yancey McGirt (Wendy) of Maxton; one daughter, Ms. Chassity McGirt of the home; three sisters, Mrs. Dagmar Dial (Carl), Ms. Robin Blue, and Mrs. Jacqueline Hunt (Roy) all of Maxton; four grandchildren; Bethany, Isaiah, Kaigen, and Tony, many nieces and nephews, a special friend and sister in Christ, Lanette Locklear (Robert), and a host of other relatives and friends.
Ms. McGirt leaves a legacy as a devout Christian and faithful servant to God. She was a loving and dedicated mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Her love and compassion is known within her home, Blue’s Café, and throughout the Red Hill Community. Her last words to her family, “Walk the path of righteousness with Jesus. I love each and every one of you, and tell them boys’ they need Jesus to be Godly men.”
