Verlin Strickland

   Mr. Verlin Strickland, 84, of Lumberton, NC was born June 22, 1939 to the late Mr. Timothy and Mrs. Ruthie Strickland departed this life on November 4, 2023.

   He started in construction in Cleveland, OH doing Plaster in 1958.  Eventually started his own business in 1964 as a Drywall Contractor.  Always worked hard at his trade and provided for his family.  He loved sports but fishing and golfing were his greatest passions.  

    He is preceded in death by his brothers Mr. Truman Strickland, Mr. Timothy Strickland Jr., Mr. Donald Strickland and Mr. Gerald Strickland.  He is also preceded by his first wife, Mrs. Mergie Strickland.

    He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Bonnie Strickland of the home; His sons: Brian (Monica) Strickland of Mint Hill, NC and Chris (April) Strickland of Pembroke, NC.  His Brother, Ronald (Sandra) Strickland; His Sisters: Sue Ann (Rabon) Maynor, Linda (Chester) Tyler, Janice (Stan) Grady, and Marie (Fredrick) Moore. His Grandchildren: Travis Brian Strickland, Sean Casey Strickland, and Christopher Clayton Strickland. His Step-Children: Rev. Charles (Sherry) Brewer, Rex (Millicent) Brewer, Vanessa (Mitch) Meadows, and Sylina Hunt.
