Trennon Lowry

Trennon P. Lowry was born on March 21, 1937 and departed this life on June 10, 2026.

He is proceeded in death by his parents Sterling P. & Cammie M. Lowry, two sisters, Doris Cummings and Patricia Lowry, one daughter Christina L Oxendine, one adopted-daughter Portia Locklear, one grandson Marcus G. Lowry, and one adopted-great grandson, Trennon Brewington.

He is survived by three children, Kenton P. Lowry, JoAnn Strickland, and Teresa J (Tim) Oxendine. He is also survived by his current wife Merita J. Lowry of 48 years. Two adopted-daughters, Arlita Chappell & Vicky Jacobs. And a host of grand, great, and great great grandkids.

Trennon P. Lowry joined the US Navy on October 13, 1954 and served 18 years 5 months & 5 days rising to the rank of Petty Officer First Class (PO1/E-6), before he was honorably discharged on September 18, 1973.

He moved his family to North Carolina where he became a skilled carpenter until he retired. In his retirement Trennon and Merita became professional tourist traveling often to the beach and mountains with the grandkids and the great grandkids.

Trennon P. Lowry was a faithful member of Hopewell Holiness Methodist Church family and served as a trustee for 20+ years until he stepped down to allow the younger generation to step into that position.
