Thris Lee Clark, 65, of Maxton, North Carolina, was born on March 23 , 1960, and
passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, May 1 , 2025, surrounded by family.
He was preceded in death by his father, Timothy “Tim” Clark, and mother, Sallie Collins
Clark, both of Maxton; and siblings Carolyn (Dewey) Forsyth of Durham, NC; Betty
(Fredrick) Shehdan of Raleigh, NC; Elgie (Angush) Blue; Ronald Clark; Jack (Judy)
Clark; and Ronnie Clark, all of Maxton, NC.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, Antonia Maria Clark; his son, Thristan
Luke Clark of Durham, NC; and his daughter, Tiffany Laurice Clark of Maxton, NC. He
also leaves behind one brother, Mr. Christopher Clark; two sisters, Janice (the late Guy)
Jones and Faye (Julian) Sanderson; sisters-in-law Windola Clark and Dorene Clark, all
of Maxton, NC; and a multitude of loving nieces and nephews.
Thris graduated from Prospect High School in 1978 and enjoyed playing football, field,
and track. He later earned a machinist degree from Richmond Community College and
worked at Collins Machine Shop before spending 33 years with Campbell Soup.
A man of deep faith, Thris was God-fearing, steadfast, and sincere. He was a faithful
and active member of Island Grove Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon,
mentor, RA, and Sunday School teacher. His influence extended far beyond the church
walls, and his life reflected grace, humility, and quiet strength. He was passionate about
music. He loved to sing, learned to play the piano, and built guitars in his home
workshop. Whether greeting someone with a warm smile at church or picking up elders
and neighbors for service, Thris made people feel seen, valued, and cared for. He
brought kindness, compassion, and humility into every space he entered. He gave back
to the community by serving as a local baseball and football coach, shaping the lives of
young people with patience and encouragement.
Thris was the most devoted husband to Antonia (Maria) and a remarkable father to their
two children. His love for his family was unwavering, and he honored them daily through
his words and actions, leaving a legacy that will never fade. His life was a living
testimony of faith in action and unconditional love. Truly, he was one of the most
honorable and respected men anyone could hope to know. May we all strive to live as
he did, with compassion, integrity, and a heart for others. Our hearts are broken, and we
will miss him dearly, but we take comfort in knowing that Thris is now resting in the arms
of Jesus, and there is no place he would rather be.
