Sylvia Locklear

Sylvia J. Locklear of Pembroke, NC, transitioned to her resting place on April 24,2026, amongst the love that showered her from her family and friends. Born to the late Earl Chancel Jacobs and Bertha Oxendine Jacobs on March 10, 1949.

Sylvia Locklear was preceded in death by her parents. She leaves to cherish her memories to her children: Suzetta Scott, Ricky Locklear, Jaclyn Locklear (Roy), William Locklear; grandchildren: Derrick Locklear, Ricky Daniel Locklear Jr., Ricchezzadec “Chez” Locklear, Harley Locklear, Syntyche Scott-Hammonds, Caleb Locklear, Leigha Jones, Deborah Rachel Locklear, Jahaven Locklear, Coryonna Locklear; great-grandchildren: Nathaniel Locklear, Jardani Locklear, Nataanii Locklear, one sister, Wanda J. Locklear, along with a host of extended family and friends.

Sylvia is known among her family as a working mother, and a survivor against the battle of breast cancer. One that kept on going amongst the obstacles that she faced. She instilled the love and meaning of faith into her family, even more showed them the work it took to keep the faith amongst all odds. Whether it was through loving through tough circumstances, dancing in the living room, or a simple cooking lesson before everyone came around the table to eat. Sylvia protected her family with what love she knew was best. Never loving everyone the same but always loving them equally in her own way.
