Shawn Janet (Locklear) Ault

Ault, Shawn Janet (Locklear), formerly of Westlake Ohio, passed away suddenly on November 14, 2022 in her Florida home. She leaves behind her beloved husband of 43 years, John and her three children Jamie Rogers (William), Wendy Snow, Edward Rogers III (Julie) and a step-son Scott Ault (Jennifer); she also leaves behind ten grand children and four great grand children. She was predeceased by her beloved mother and father Liz and  Lucious “Bushy” Locklear. The family will be holding a memorial on January 12th 2023 at 3:30 pm at Thompsons Funeral Home. 

Born in Fairmont NC, Shawn Janet was a spirited woman, unwavering in her faith and generosity towards others. She was creatively gifted in all things design and was a licensed floral designer; she continually shared her gift with others, especially during the holidays. She previously owned a floral business in Bay Village, Ohio. She lived in grace and elegance, and her life was as beautiful as the flowers that she loved. Shawn also frequently donated to different philanthropic organizations; one of her favorite memories was giving an anonymous gift to a grade school class and getting thank you notes from students in return addressed to “ Ms. Anonymous”.  Shawn leaves an indelible mark on all of us and her influence will endure in the hearts of those who knew her. She will be remembered for her fierce determination and loving spirit.

Shawn was also a proud friend of Bill Wilson for over 28 years and she leaves many dear friends of Bill Wilson behind. She is reunited in death with her dearest childhood friend Iris Locklear, who passed away July 29, 2022 after a battle with ALS. 

In lieu of flowers the family would like to suggest donations be made in her honor to Alcoholics Anonymous, UH Rainbow Babies Children Hospital or any other organizations that  benefits sick or underprivileged children. Memorial services will be held on December 29, 2022 at 3:30 p.m at Jenkins Funeral Chapel in Westlake, Ohio, and on January 12, 2023 at 3:30 p.m at Thompon’s  Funeral Home in Pembroke, NC.
