Sequiro Oxendine

Sequira Rachell Oxendine, age 32, of Lumberton, North Carolina, entered into eternal rest on August 11, 2025. She was born on September 5, 1992, to Gerald Wayne and Karry Locklear of Lumberton.

Sequira’s greatest joy in life was her children, who were the light of her world: Lahalie Dawn Devor, Alana Mae Oxendine, Kylie Evelyn Grace Oxendine, Kylan Lee Hunt, Jaylan Hunt, and Lacoya Oxendine. Her love for them was steadfast and unconditional, and she carried their names in her heart each day of her life.

She is survived by her parents; her brother, Geronimo Locklear; her sisters, Alisa and Sabra Oxendine; her children; and a host of extended family and friends who loved her deeply.
She is preceded in death by her maternal great-grandmother, Evelyn Sampson; her aunt, Dawn Oxendine; her paternal grandparents, Lacy and Sadie Oxendine; and her brother, Marvin Locklear.

Sequira’s journey was not without its struggles, but she will be remembered for her beautiful black hair, her small yet spirited nature, her fierce loyalty, and her love for family. Although her time on earth was far too brief, her story will live on in the hearts of her children, her family, and all who knew her.

A service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest with love, surrounded by prayers for her eternal peace.
