Ray Field Locklear

Mr. Ray Field Locklear, age 83 of Rowland, NC was born on August 10, 1941. He went to his heavenly home on Sunday, December 8, 2024.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Locklear; his mother, Mrs. Ocie Locklear; his father, Mr. Garner Locklear; his brothers, Mr. Harold Locklear, Mr. Garner Locklear Jr, Mr. Willie B. Locklear; his sister's, Mrs. Maragaret Perry and Mrs.NeEssie Pierce. 

Mr. Ray leaves to cherish his memories three sons, Alex (Dufrena) Locklear of Pembroke, Michael Locklear of Rowland, and Ritchie Locklear of Rowland; seven grandchildren, Alexa, Mikayla, Megan, Sierra, Brandon, Taylor, and DeLance; 10 great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Patsy Thompson and Mrs. Shelby Tobash; one brother Mr. Hurley E. Locklear; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. 

Through the years he was a competitive sportsman in bowling, softball, and golf. Mr. Ray was a godly and dedicated Christian. He was a part of the Lumber River Holiness Methodist Church Conference in past years where he served as Sunday School Superintendent. In recent years he went back to his home church, Island Grove Baptist, where he continued to serve his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. 

Mr. Ray was a friend to many, He enjoyed his family. He also enjoyed his circle of friends whom he gathered with daily at McDonald's and the weekly Saturday morning breakfast he attended at Mt. Olive Church. His presence in our lives will truly be missed.
