Mr. Oscar King Wilkins was born in Robeson County on May 2, 1954 to the late Harvey H. Wilkins and Lillian “Josephine” Lowry Wilkins and departed this life on November 20, 2021 at the age of 67.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his older brother Hansel “Hank” Wilkins.
Oscar was a hard worker and a loving family man. His grands and great grands held a special place in his heart. He was an outgoing person who met no strangers and always had a friendly smile on his face. Oscar was a very creative and artistic soul. He will be remembered as Richard Petty’s look alike because of his long legs, boots and stylish cowboy hats.
Oscar leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Helene Wilkins; his children, Rico and Tammy both of Lumberton; his eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one sister, Hazel Strickland (Luke) of Pembroke; three brothers, Dock Wilkins of Lumberton, Harvey Wilkins of New London and Stacey Wilkins of Pembroke; many nieces and nephews that he loved and cherished and a host of lifelong friends, especially Johnny Fife, Andy Griffin and Phillip Locklear.
