Melvin Ellis Dial

Mr. Melvin Ellis Dial, 74, of Agnes Dr. Pembroke, NC was born October 19, 1945 to the late Donnie Ellis Dial and Agnes Dial and departed this life Thursday, May 28, 2020 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center after an extended illness.

He is preceded in death by his sisters, Marie Dial, Sallie Mae Dial, Edna Strickland and Deloris Moore.

Mr. Dial served his country in the US Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. He loved spending time with his family, friends and dogs; he will always be remembered as a loving husband, father and Papa. He also enjoyed working on cars and cutting grass.

Mr. Dial leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Betty Dial of the home; one daughter, Shana Spencer (Robert) and one son, Tonka Dial (Michelle) both of pembroke, NC; three grandchildren, Donnie Dial, Michael Barnette and Victoria Barnette; two sisters, Beulah Oxendine and Deletha Locklear both of Pembroke, NC; a special niece, Dorothy Dial; two special friends, Horace Dial and Arnold Locklear and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mr. Dial will lie in state at Thompson's Funeral home Wednesday, June 3, 2020 from 2pm-5pm and Thursday, June 4, from 9am to 12 noon.  The public is welcome during these times.
