Mary M. Morrow, age 83 of Loris, SC was born on May 30, 1939 in Robeson County to the late Rudolph & Susanna Oxendine and she departed this life on February 16, 2023 at Angel Oaks Nursing Home in Myrtle Beach, SC.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Donald E. Morrow, her parents, Rudolph & Susanna Oxendine, four brothers, Anthony Oxendine, R.D. Oxendine, Herbert Oxendine, & Harold Oxendine and two sisters, Ella Mae Bullard and Rosette Locklear.

Mary M. Morrow is survived by her two children, Wanda T. Lindstrand & Kevin B. Morrow, one grandchild, Tara A. Lindstrand, son-in-law, John M. Lindstrand, and siblings, Mildred MacKinnon, Annie Pierson, & James Lee Oxendine.

After, graduating from Pembroke High, she attended business school in Charlotte, NC for bookkeeping and then moved to Wilmington, DE where she got a job as a bookkeeper in a bakery.  While in Delaware, she met the love of her life, Donald E. Morrow.  He lived in the same apartment building and by chance they met one day in October of 1961 on the outside steps of the building.  This was the beginning of a wonderful love affair that lasted a lifetime!  They were married on June 24, 1962 at Island Grove Baptist Church. Her life was filled with a lot of love, happiness, and adventure!  They loved to go fishing, boating, traveled all 48 states, owned a sub shop, worked as a waitress, owned carnival rides, and built six homes together.  They loved working side by side accomplishing their goals and truly enjoyed each other’s companionship.  She also loved visiting her family in Robeson County and would eventually move back there with her husband to spend more time with everyone.

Mary M. Morrow was a devoted wife, wonderful mother and grandmother and follower of Jesus Christ! She was generous, compassionate, unselfish, provided values, traditions, patience, guidance, love, and sacrifice to her family. She loved her family, loved God, and loved life!

We never know what the path of life will bring, only God our savior knows what tomorrow holds; we will go thorough trials and tribulations and our faith will be tested but we must stay strong and realize God has a plan for all of us and works for the good of all.  Thank you God for blessing our family with a wonderful mother!  Rest in Peace Mama!
