Mary Jones

Mrs. Mary “Mable” Lee Jones, age 76, entered into her heavenly home on February 18, 2026, at home surrounded by her family.

Mary of Maxton born March 4, 1949, is preceded in death by her parents Mr. English “Black: Barton and Mrs. Allie “Bird” Bertha Barton and one son Mr. Michael Spencer Clark, seven brothers and two sisters.

Mrs. Mary leaves to cherish her memories her husband Sanford Jones of the home; two daughters: Stephanie A. Zuniga (Jim) and Clarissa Jones Locklear (Chris) of Maxton, one daughter in law Libby M. Clark of Rowland, two granddaughters: Skyler A Hunt (Brandon) and Cheyanne E. Clewis (Trey) of Lumberton, four grandsons: Michael C. Clark of Rowland, Kyle L. Locklear (Rhea) of Maxton, Coty J. Clark (Kelsey) of Maxton, Chandler O. Jones of the home, ten great grandchildren, five sisters: Mrs. Fay Bullard, Mrs. Annie Faye Chavis, Mrs. Carolina Locklear, Ms. Doris Barton and Mrs. Pauline Miller all of Maxton, one brother Mr. Don Barton of Maxton, and a host of special relatives and friends.

The funeral will be conducted Monday February 23, 2026, at Thompson’s Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Barton and Rev. Mickey Carter officiating. Burial will follow in Jones cemetery on Wild Plum Road in Maxton.
