Marcie B (Godwin) Sampson

Mrs. Marcie B Sampson, born April 17, 1941 in Lumberton, entered her eternal heavenly home on December 20, 2021, after an acute illness at New Hanover Medical Center in Wilmington.

   We will mourn our mothers passing and celebrate her heavenly homecoming. We are comforted in the fact that our mother is praising God almighty forever in her eternal heavenly home. We already miss her so.

   Marcie was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Sim Sampson; father, Quin Godwin; mother, Carrie Emmanuel Godwin; Sisters, Eleanor Locklear, Daisey Jefferies, Elsie Carter, Grace Locklear; brothers, Miles, Wardell. Quincy, James “Sonny”, Albert and Booster.

   Left to cherish so many wonderful memories are her three sons, Simeon (Vicky), Jerry R (Shirley) and Daniel (Lenora); three daughters, Gloria Locklear (David), Lorie Chason (Charles), Lady Lisa Sampson; two sisters, Texie Lee Stephens of Lumberton and Betty Sue Buchnan of Griffin, GA; thirteen grands twenty three great-grands and a host of relatives and friends.
