Marcella (Strickland) Dial

God looked around his garden and found an empty place. He then looked down upon the earth, and he saw your tired face. He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest. God’s garden must be beautiful because he always takes the best. He saw the road was getting rough, and the hills were hard to climb, so he closed your weary eyes, and whispered “Peace be Thine”. It broke our hearts to lose you but you didn’t go alone, for part of us went with you the day God called you home.

Mrs. Marcella Dial, was born 29 September 1936 to Lula and Braxton Strickland.

She was a very hard working woman who always ensured her family didn’t have to want for much so they could have a better life than what she had to endure. She was rare woman, worth far more than diamonds and rubies, always shining bright in the lives of everyone she touched. She left this world a much better place when our heavenly Father called her home on Friday, 24 March 2023.

Momma was a religious woman who loved her church Island Grove and the many services with her church members. She a world traveler and was fortunate enough to visit so many places around the world from Korea, China, Canada and many others., but her favorite location was Hawaii.

Mrs. Marcella Dial, is preceded in death by her father and mother, Braxton & Lula Strickland and husband Samuel Dial, and grandson Jerry Wayne Jr. She is also preceded in death by her brothers and sisters Addison, Willard, Lula, Norman, Margie, and Marvin. She is forever cherished by Ricky Oxendine Colorado and Jolene (Myra) Locklear NC. Her grand children Chong Oxendine, Korea, Mil Sil Greenwood, Japan, Julia Locklear NC and great grandchildren Sarah, Noah Oxendine, Jeremy, Jade Locklear; and her best friend Mrs. Betty Locklear who they held daily talks every morning without missing a beat.

During her time here with us, this virtuous woman was the hands and feet of Jesus Christ, a woman more precious than the diamonds in the world. She will continue to live on in our hearts forever.
