Marca Loy (Brewington) Groves

   Mrs. Marca B. Groves was born in Clinton, NC on April 22, 1956 to the late Rev. Harvey Brewington and Mrs. Naomi Simmons Brewington.  She departed this life and was called into the presence of her Lord and Savior on August 10, 2021.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorrie Brewington and Elma Dawn Brooks; two brothers, Todd and Rex Brewington.

Marca was a vivacious person with a loving, bubbly warm spirit. She was a college cheerleader and graduate of UNC Pembroke and taught Art Education in Robeson County Schools. Prior to that, Marca loved and was a beloved classmate of her 1974 Pembroke High School Warriors. Because of her many health challenges she faced in life, she was sometimes referred to as the ultimate warrior for enduring these trials without complaint trusting God who gave her sufficient grace to endure till He called her home.

Marca leaves to cherish her memories, her husband of 37 years Danford Groves, a son, Danson Groves of the home; one sister, Cheryl Jacobs (Bobby) of Fayetteville; one brother, Mike Brewington (Sarah) of Pembroke; one sister-in-law, Sandra Brewington of Rowland; many nieces and nephews that she loved and cherished and a host of extended family and lifelong friends.
