Lyre Lowry

Lyre Ann Lowry, age 80, of Pembroke, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, July 3, 2026.

Born on August 6, 1945, in Lumberton, Lyre was the daughter of Jethro and Lester Locklear. She was the beloved wife of Wilkie Lowry, with whom she shared many years of love and devotion.

She leaves behind her loving husband, Wilkie Lowry; her son, Jason Lowry; and her daughter, Christy Chavis. She was a proud grandmother to Kyra Feliciano and Lesanna Chavis, and was also blessed with many other cherished grandchildren who brought great joy to her life.

Lyre was preceded in death by her parents, Jethro and Lester Locklear; her son, Michael Paul Lowry; and her beloved granddaughter, Madeline Marie Lowry.

She will be remembered for the love she shared with her family, the kindness she showed to others, and the lasting memories she leaves in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
