Linda Locklear Obituary

Linda Kay Woody Locklear was born May 7, 1950 and departed this life on November 28, 2020 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Maggie Woody; two sisters,  Doratha Lee Denham and Barbara Ann Mc’elrath; one brother, Eddy Woody; three sons, Alvin Scott Oxendine, Charles Christie, Fred Oxendine and one grandson, Zachary Oxendine.

She lives on through her husband, Hezzie Locklear Sr.; daughter, Connie Christie of Pembroke; son, Cherokee Alvin Christie of the home; daughter, Robin (Bo) Taylor of Red Springs, Penny Oxendine of Red Springs, Donald Oxendine of Union Chapel, Step-daughter, Ashley Locklear of Red Springs and sister, Peggy Cole of Salisbury. Linda leaves behind three great granddaughters, Hailey, Leeani & Paris and one great grandson, Austin of the home. And one longtime pet, Precious. She leaves behind a great amount of grandchildren, Geronimo, Jennifer, Jeanine, Daniel, Chelsi, Lindsey, Blake, Kristin, Nichalus, Telicia, James, Sequoia, Chess, Skylar, Kiona, Xena, Teanna, Lumbeeona, Allen Ray, Amiah, Shardai, & Hayden.

Linda would want to recognize Linda Lynn, Cheyenne, Shelby, Sommer & Starr for always being one call away and assisting in her well-care while she was here on earth. She leaves behind a greater number of great grandchildren.

She is the legacy that will live on through us all. She was a light that could be seen no matter where she was. She welcomed all into her home, she was a giving soul, a kind spirit. A firecracker in a sense, she was definitely one of a kind. And to know her was to love her.

She taught us many things about living but one she forgot to teach us was how to live without her. In the famous words of Linda Kay “Suck it up buttercup”, and it’s never bye it’s “Later”.  Until we meet again, roam the streets of gold with your boys.
