Larry Dale (Laudell) Hunt

Mr. Larry Dale Hunt, 79, of 8803 Hwy 74W, Rowland, North Carolina went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Friday, January 22, 2021.

Larry was a devoted member of Harpers Ferry Church. He was an active member of his Sunday School Class, Brotherhood, and Brotherhood Choir. He was active in short term mission projects in Alaska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Oklahoma, Honduras, and Central America. He loved attending Bible Study and sharing God’s word. He had a love for astronomy and was an avid Carolina Tarheel and Yankee fan. Larry retired from the US Air Force with twenty years of service. After his retirement, he attended Robeson Community College and graduated with an Accounting Degree and attended Fayetteville State University pursuing a Business Finance degree. He went on to work in various businesses.

He is preceded in death by his beloved mother, Ms. Nora Hunt, his father Mr. Grady P. Chavis, a stepson, Mr. Craig Eugene Locklear, two sisters: Mrs. Barbara Ayers and Mrs. Patricia Chavis.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 43 years, Mrs. Mary B. Hunt of the home, and a stepson, Mr. Anthony (Jasmine) Locklear of Black Mountain, NC. Grandson: Mr. Cody Locklear of Rowland, NC, three sisters: Mrs. Charlcire (David) Hathaway, Mrs. Nancy (Steve) Harris, Mrs. Deborah Chavis, and three brothers: Mr. Marshall (Teresa) Chavis, Mr. Grady (Carolyn) Chavis, Mr. Frankie Chavis, a dear cousin, Ms. Marie Carol Hunt, and a host of relatives and friends.
