Judy Chavis Locklear

Ms. Judy Chavis Locklear, 72, of Maxton, was born October 29, 1949 and died August 18, 2021 at UNC Health Southeastern Hospital. 

She was preceded in death by her parents Willie Albert and Etta Mae “Doobie” Chavis; three brothers Donald Chavis, Dexter Chavis , and Rabon Chavis.

Judy was a loving and caring person, devoted mother, and friend always thinking of others first.  “To know her was to love her.”

Judy leaves to cherish her loving memory her children Wade H. Locklear Jr. of Starks, Louisiana, wife Kimberly; Kevin D. Locklear of Sulphur, Louisiana wife Marquet’; Marcus Locklear of Maxton, North Carolina wife Amanda; Candance Bailey of Maxton, North Carolina husband Lyndon; Alex Locklear of Maxton, North Carolina wife Jayne; Grandchildren Donald Locklear, Kirrsty Locklear, Riannah Locklear, Brooke Locklear, Devon Locklear, Phillip Locklear, Juliana Locklear, Lakota Locklear, Morgan Locklear, Cole Bailey, Chloe Bailey, Anthony Locklear, James Locklear, Madison Pevia, Tristin Locklear, Alexis Locklear; fourteen great-grandchildren; one brother Clyde Lowery; three sisters Jackie Locklear, Josie Beasley, Marie Jarrett; and a host of other relatives and friends.
