Joseph A. Langley, Jr., 80, of the Prospect Community, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Alfred Langley, Sr., and Ruth Anne Muldowney Langley and his brother, David Francis Langley.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Terry Ann, of the home, one son, Michael Langley of Hampton, VA., two daughters, Michelle Langley Laubach (Jonathan) of Yorktown, VA., Dawn Langley (Nora) of Fayetteville, N.C., ten grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a nephew.
He is also survived by two stepsons, James C. Baker (Melanie) of Maxton, N.C., Jon M. Locklear of Maxton, N.C. and one stepdaughter, Kris Cummings (Randy) of Winterville, N.C., nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Joseph was a retired Chief Master Sergeant (E-9) in the US Air Force, a retired educator with the Public Schools of Robeson County, and a member of New Prospect Holiness Methodist Church. Visitation will be held at Thompson’s Funeral Home, Pembroke, N.C., from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm on Wednesday, June 7th. A graveside service is planned for 2:00 pm at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, N.C.
