Jerry Dean Dial, born on October 21, 1950, to the late James Louis Dial Sr. and Stella Graham Dial, passed away peacefully at home on August 15, 2025.

He is preceded in death by his parents, five brothers Delmar Dial, Donnell Dial, Delton Ray Dial, James Louis Dial Jr., and Ronald Lee Dial and one sister, Fannie Jane Dial.

He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Yevon Lowery Dial; his son, Jason Dial (Bobbie) of Maxton, NC; his daughter, Joanna Dial of Pembroke, NC; and his beloved grandchildren — Ashlin Perez, Rylin Perez, and Kailin Perez. Along with two step-grandchildren, Jay and Jaz, and one step great-grandchild.

Jerry is also survived by one brother, Horace Dial (Lisa) of Pembroke, NC; two sisters, Verdia Deese and Fannie S. Lowry (Thornton), both of Pembroke, NC; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Jerry was a hardworking man with a heart of a servant, Jerry was a lifelong farmer who spent long days in the fields alongside his brothers. Fondly remembered as his daddy’s “Cucumber Hauling Man,” Jerry also spent several years working with Christian Transportation as a mechanic.

Beyond his work, Jerry was known for his devotion to his family. He was a steadfast caretaker throughout his life, providing love and support to many, including his parents, Aunt Ella, Uncle Council, mother-in-law Priscilla Lowery, and later in life, Mr. Ancil Sanderson.

Sundays held a special place in Jerry’s heart. He cherished gathering with his family for Sunday dinners, where he was known for his fried chicken, homemade potato salad, and warm, delicious pound cake — meals prepared with love and shared with joy.
