Mr. James Everette Moore, 99 of 10958 NC Hwy 711, Pembroke was born August 18, 1922 in Robeson Co. to the Late Mr. Charlie Hadden Moore and Mrs. Marie Sampson Moore. He departed this life to his heavenly home, Thursday, December 23, 2021 at his residence.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Moore is preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Rosa Lee Oxendine Moore; three brothers, Mr. Louis Curtis Moore, Mr. Henry Moore and Mr. Charles Luther Moore; three sisters, Mrs. Marjorie Violet Rhodes, Mary Marie Morehead and Mrs. Carrie Mabel Dial.
Mr. Moore was a member of Prospect United Methodist Church. He was a man that worked many different jobs throughout his life, but the one that he will be remembered for most is owning and running Prospect Village Grocery. In addition, to his hard work and dedication to his family, he enjoyed reciting poems to others written by henry Longfellow that he learned when he was in the sixth grade. Mr. Moore loved the sport of baseball as well as hunting.
Mr. Moore leaves to cherish his memories, two children he raised as his own, Mrs. Telisha M. Oxendine (Brandon) of Red Springs, and Mr. Steven Oxendine Moore (Trista ) of the Prospect Community; seven grandchildren, Zackery James Oxendine, Ashton Percell Scott, Ashley Decarla Scott, Aireonna Faith Oxendine, James Caden Oxendine and Colton Jase Oxendine; two special nieces, Ms. Juanita Oxendine and Mrs. Patricia M. Maddox and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
