Helen Joyce Locklear, of Eddie Road, Pembroke was born February 18, 1947 to James and Flora Locklear, and entered into her eternal home on November 27, 2022 at the age of 75, surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor her legacy by living their lives to the fullest.
She was a devoted wife of 58 years to Lee Kermit “Pap” Locklear and is survived by three wonderful children whom she raised with love and devotion: Tabitha Locklear and husband Derrick of Maxton, Ricky Dean Locklear of the home, and Joshua Adam Locklear and wife Kimberly of Spring Lake.
Helen was an active member of Rock of Ages Church until her sickness prevented her from physically attending. Her generous spirit and pleasant personality was loved by many, especially the elderly she cared for over the years. Her Christian life was as beautiful as the flowers that she loved so well, and her influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her.
Helen is survived by three brothers, Cerles Locklear, James Ervin Locklear and Mitchell Locklear; four sisters, Betty Hunt, Glenda Crouse, Roshella Manis, Linda Deese; six grandchildren, whom she adored, Jordan Shaw Locklear (Leticia), Amber Lee Locklear (Jermaine), Casey Nicole Locklear, Salayla Rose Locklear, Kashlyn Paige Locklear, and Baine Alexander Locklear. She also leaves behind eleven great grandchildren: Layla, Nolan, Konnor, Brooklyn, Jordan JR “JJ”, Kreed, Logan, Legend, Kalani, Cali, and Kobe.
Helen is proceeded in death by her parents, two brothers, Floyd Locklear and Larry Locklear, three sisters, Susan Ann Clark, Sherry Locklear, and Mary Sue Lowery, and two grandchildren, Kash and Korbon Locklear.
