Mr. Donald M. Sampson, 73, of Rowland, NC, was born January 6th, 1953, to Margolius (Gold) and Lillian H. Sampson.He finished high school at Pembroke Senior High in 1971. He joined the U.S. Army in December 1972 and in 1973 he met Doreen. In December 1975 he got out of the Army.
In September 17th, 1976, Donald and Doreen were married. Then he started taking classes at Robeson Technical College and he received a diploma in Carpentry. In May 1984, he started teaching classes for Robeson Community College in the Prison System and in May 2011 he retired from Robeson Community College.
Then on Saturday, April 25, 2026 he went to be with his heavenly Father. He was preceded in death by his father Margolius (Gold) Sampson; a brother Michael Sampson; a son James M. Canady and his wife for 47 years Doreen H. Sampson.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories a daughter, Loretta Canady (Jay Jay); a son Carlos Canady (Topeka); his mother, Lillian H. Sampson; two brothers, Rev. Timmie D. Sampson (Sue) and Raven Sampson (Shelia); seven grandchildren Latoya, Luke, Latrista, Troskie, Carla, Kylon, and Kina; seven great grandchildren Payton, Jacobs, Ella, Brooklyn, Bayleigh, Nixon and Mya and a host of relatives and friends.
