Dennis James Sanderson

Dennis James Sanderson, age 73, of Rowland, NC, passed away on September 23, 2025. He was born on December 10, 1951, to the late Ira and Nancy Lowery Sanderson.

Dennis dedicated 35 years of service as a security officer at UNC Pembroke, where he was known for his commitment and friendly spirit. A passionate fan of NASCAR and drag racing, Dennis found joy in the thrill of the track and the roar of the engines.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Evelyn; two brothers, Willie and Joe.

Dennis is survived by his devoted wife of 51 years, Diane Sanderson; two sons, Derrick Sanderson of the home and Jeremy Sanderson  (Page ); one stepdaughter, Cris. He was a proud grandfather to five grandchildren: Selena, Derrick Jr., Josiah, Jaleeya, and Jasmine.

Also left to cherish his memory are two nieces, Sabrina and Amanda; two nephews, Christopher and Rusty; along with a host of extended family members and friends
