TRANSFERRED CITIZENSHIP

Delton Ray Locklear, age 60 of 1036 Redhill Road, Maxton, N.C. was born to John Frank and Pearlie Locklear and transferred his citizenship to be with his Lord and Savior on August 21, 2021, at 9:51 PM at Scotland Memorial Hospital after battling COVID-19.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 6:00 pm on Saturday, August 28, 2021, with the funeral services beginning at 6:00 - 7:00 pm at  1036 Redhill Road, Maxton, NC.  Officiating ministers will be Rev. Dr. Timothy Chavis and Rev. Donald Bullard.  Burial will follow at the family cemetery located at the home.

Delton was employed with CSX Railway as an Engineer Conductor for 18 years where he was known as “Dock” #571024 and the big man who wore the white T-shirt and overall.

His daily passion was his cows and spending time with his sidekicks:  Tristen, Tryon, Tyler and Taylan.

Proceeded in transformation was his parents, Frank and Pearlie Locklear; sister, Glenda Locklear; brothers, Harbert and Herman Locklear; sister-in-law, Valerie Locklear and two nephews; Albert Locklear and Cecil Locklear.

He leaves to remember and cherish him, his wife, Audrey of 34 years and children, Nataiya Locklear, whom he called “Tyi”, Wahkuna C. Locklear, Tony Dean Jacobs, Jr.  Grandchildren; Cyra and Ryland Lowry, Kyra Locklear, Emaline Jacobs, Tristen Jacobs, Tryon Jacobs, Tyler Jacobs and Taylan Jacobs.  He also had a little girl whom he adored; Zerenity and called her Nok-Nok, along with a little fellow who visited from time to time, Julian.  He just had a loving way with children, they loved him, and he loved them.  His sisters and brothers-in-law; Barbara and Randolph Bullard, Pauline and Gregory Motrenec, Diane and Winford Locklear, Valentina and Welton Oxendine; Phyllis and Ronald Smith, Janice Locklear and one brother, Dennis Locklear along with 9 nieces and nephews. A host of other relatives, lifelong friends, his Harley family and his CSX Family, especially Jason Locklear.

Wake Saturday 5-6 at 1036 Red Hill Rd. Maxton NC 28364 on the farm at Locklear Family Cemetery where the funeral will follow.
