Colby Oxendine

Colby Dean Oxendine, 73, of 667 Bertha Jones Rd. Rowland, NC was born August 15, 1952 and went to his heavenly home on October 26, 2025 at Morrison Manor surrounded by family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Norman Oxendine and Flora Isabell (Hunt) Oxendine; his brothers, Charles Oxendine, Ray Ronald Oxendine and his sisters Lucille (Oxendine) Campbell and Bettie Lois (Oxendine) Dietrich.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years Valerie (Johnson) Oxendine, two sons Joseph (Jennifer) Oxendine of Hope Mills and Jesse (Rose) Oxendine of Lumberton, one daughter, Kayla (Patrick) Jacobs of Maxton, N.C.; two sisters, Erma Neil McWilliams of Maryland and Colleen (Earl) Chavis of Pembroke. N.C., one brother Glenn (Naomi) Oxendine of Rowland; eight grandchildren, Alaina Oxendine, Caroline Oxendine, Colby Oxendine, Worth Oxendine, Freya Oxendine, Wyatt Oxendine, Sophia Jacobs and Elliott Jacobs, special friends Dallas Locklear, Mr. Larry (Linda) Locklear and a host of other relatives and friends.

Colby Dean Oxendine was considered by many to be a light in a dark place. Sometimes, Colby would be accused of smiling too much. Whenever this accusation was made, Colby would simply reply that his smile comes from how good God has been to him.
