Ms. Betty Ann Barton Dial was born on November 10, 1953, in Robeson County. Ms. Betty was one of twelve children to her parents to the late Mr. George Barton & Mrs. Edith Jones Barton.
Mrs. Betty was employed at Sara Lee Knit Productions until closing of the plant. She then went on to the Public Schools of Robeson County, where she was employed with Townsend Middle School as a Janitorial Service woman as she still had her own little business she had started early in years in life as wholesale businesses. Ms. Betty enjoyed and loves in life was fishing, vacationing with family and her love of flea marketing to lots of areas. Ms. Betty was a faithful member of Sycamore Hill Holiness Church in Maxton, NC. She was also in the Lady Auxliary since 1988 when the women’s group started.
Ms. Betty was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow and Strowdy Jones along with paternal grandparents, Mr & Mrs. Buck and Annie Ruth Barton. Along side her beloved son Heath Dial, Karrington Odell Locklear, her sisters Colleen J. Lambert and Cynthia Locklear.
Ms. Betty leaves her precious and beautiful memories to be survived by her son Mr. Patrick Coleman Locklear and her daughter-in-law, his wife Mrs.Toria Gwen Clark Locklear of Maxton. To her dearest and precious grandchildren of four: Ms. Taylor Virginia Ashton Bryant, Mr. Tyler Micheal Clark, and Ms. Teegan Alley Louisicia Locklear of Maxton, NC., Ms Kennedy Alexander Locklear of Wade, NC. Her beautiful great grandchildren of six: Master Emmerson Cole and Emerald Kelly Bullard of Maxton, Caslyn, Keirae, and Heather Booth all of Wade , NC., her brothers Micheal Barton, Larry Barton(Betty Jo), Darly Barton (Joyce), Llyod Barton (Sher Ann), all of Maxton, Bob Barton (Phyllis) of Hamlet, Stevenson Barton (Betty Jean) of Quniton, Va., Terry Barton and Jervice Barton both of Maxton, sister Onita Stuckey of Fayetteville, NC., one brother-in-law Melvin Locklear of Maxton, NC., a host of nieces and nephews, and host of family and friends. And a special helper as a nurse-aid Alkeya Jackson.
Donations shall be made to Morrison Manor in Hospice Home in Scotland County.
