Obituary

Betsy Locklear was born was born on August 09, 1943, to the late Dock and Mattie Bell Locklear. Betsy enjoyed spending time with her family and making quilts. She faithfully attended Maxton First Assembly of God. She worked at Campbell Soup for many years. Betsy also loved gardening and tending to her livestock until she wasn’t able to anymore. Betsy’s presence will be missed terribly by all those that loved her and those whom have been impacted by her. She departed this life to make Heaven her home on May 05, 2023.

Betsy was also preceded in death by her daughter (Joann Locklear), and four grandchildren.

Betsy is survived by a daughter, Janice McPherson (of the home); two sons, Rodney Locklear (Ashely) and Watash Locklear (Jessica), both of Maxton; two brothers, Kermit Locklear (Sylvia) and Winford Locklear (Diane), both of Maxton; four  sisters, Mary Rose Sanderson, Savanna Clark (Donald), Peggy Stewart (Dennis), all of Maxton. And Vera Webber of Laurinburg. Betsy is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren, and a huge host of family and friends.
