Allene (Locklear) Barton

PROSPECT — Mrs. Allene Locklear Barton, 81, of the Prospect Community was born in Maxton, NC on April 14, 1938 to the late Smithy and Rosa Bell (Barton) Locklear of Maxton, NC, and departed this life Wednesday, December 11, 2019, at her home. 

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Smithy and Rosa Bell Locklear; her husband whom she married in 1954, Charlie (Pottie) Barton; one daughter, Debra Ann Barton; two sister, Mary Alice Hunt and Judy Chavis and three brothers, Jerry Locklear, James Locklear and Bobby Locklear.

Mrs. Barton leaves behind to cherish her memories, three daughters, Carolene Jacobs (Herman) of Pembroke, NC, Tina L. Locklear of Greenville, NC and Charlene Branch (Pete) of Red Springs, NC; two sons, Tony Barton and Charlie Barton, Jr. of Maxton, NC; one caretaker and friend, Christine Oxendine of Pembroke, NC; eight grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
