Adam Love Obituary

Adam Warren Love, Jr., 73, of  Pembroke, North Carolina, passed away
peacefully on Friday, March 28, 2025, at Duke University Hospital in Durham, North Carolina,
surrounded by loved ones.
Born on May 27, 1951, to Adam and Marie Love, Warren’s life was one of dedication, service,
and immeasurable love for his family, friends, and community. He is survived by his two beloved
daughters, Emily L. Jones (Channing), Allison L. Cummings (Michael), and five cherished
grandchildren: Kennedy Grace Jones, Brooklyn Reese Jones, Canyon English Jones, Sarah
Mae Cummings, and Harley Mich Cummings, sister, Gay Shaver, and devoted friend, Karmel
Brooks. He leaves behind a vast circle of family, friends, and community members whose lives
he touched in profound and lasting ways. Warren was preceded in death by his wife, Paulette
Lowry Love, and his parents, Adam Warren Love, Sr., and Marie Love.
A man of deep conviction and unwavering commitment, Warren devoted over 35 years to the
University of North Carolina at Pembroke, where he served as the Director of the Media Center.
His work in education, mentorship, and media helped shape the lives of countless students,
faculty, and staff. Warren’s heart was also deeply invested in the Pembroke Rural Volunteer
Fire Department, where he dedicated over 30 years to serving and protecting his community.
He was a steadfast member of Pembroke First United Methodist Church, where his faith guided
him in all that he did.
Warren's passion for videography was legendary. He had an extraordinary talent for capturing
life's most precious moments, and his work was a gift to so many families in Robeson County
and beyond. Whether recording weddings, anniversaries, the Lumbee Homecoming pageant, or
performances at the Givens Performing Arts Center, Warren’s lens preserved memories that will
live on for generations.
Though Warren was originally from Badin, North Carolina, he found his true home in Pembroke
after stepping onto Pembroke State University's campus at 18. From that moment, he embraced
Pembroke and Robeson County as his own, pouring his heart into everything he did. As an
educator, volunteer, father, husband, and grandfather, he worked tirelessly to make his
community a better place. His legacy is one of dedication, service, and selfless love for those
around him.
Warren was a man who radiated warmth and kindness. He had a unique gift of connecting with
people, no matter their background, and he never met a stranger. His generosity knew no
bounds—whether it was sharing a lunch, offering a ride to school or the ball field, or just
providing a listening ear. His sense of humor was contagious, and he had a knack for making
everyone around him feel special. Warren’s love for his daughters and grandchildren was
immeasurable, and his pride in them was evident.
Warren’s legacy is not just in the work he did, but in the lives he touched. He was a constant
source of encouragement, laughter, and strength. Much like Santa Claus, he knew who you

were, whether he had met you before, and he made it his mission to lift your spirits and brighten
your day. He was a beloved Santa for daycares, parades, and Christmas events, spreading joy
wherever he went.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does
not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of
wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects,
always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
