To my Aunt Jean’s family: I admired your strength in your mother’s final days. You displayed such care and concern for her as you discussed her treatment, comfort, and her wishes. I want to thank you for allowing us to share it with you. You welcomed us in so warmly even in that difficult time when your own hearts were breaking. When I entered the room and touched her arm, Aunt Jean, still beautiful and gracious, opened her eyes and thanked me for coming. I was truly humbled and will treasure that memory. Know that I am thinking of you all.
